Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
CourtTide is operated by Benjamin Barnes in Georgia, United States. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the website, API or connected agents.
Information you provide
- Your email and profile details: first and last name, optional 10-digit phone number, tennis level, optional gender shown as Female or Male, usual times, up to three listed parks, and optional photo, Strava or Instagram link. Other players ordinarily see your first name and last initial rather than your full name.
- Your saved starting point and parks; posts, hit requests and notes; blocks and reports; and parks you mark as played.
- Match Tracker entries, including opponent and partner names, league, score, result, date, park and notes.
- Your date of birth for the age check, API-key labels and permissions, and messages you send to support. Your date of birth is retained but never shown to other members. If you are under 13, only the restricted eligibility result is retained, not your date of birth.
How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, find courts and players, manage games and requests, keep your tennis records, respond to support and reports, and protect the service. Gender is optional and is used for player filters. Your starting point is private.
Session cookies keep you signed in for up to 90 days. Local browser storage remembers preferences such as your theme and finder view. We store API keys in a form we can’t read back. Anyone you give a key to can use its permissions until you revoke it.
What other people can see
Court pages are public. Eligible signed-in members can see member profiles and Match Maker details, including first name, last initial, photo, level, optional gender, usual times, a rough last-active label and listed parks. Profiles can also show collected parks, optional social links and match history.
Your profile is visible on the public web only when you turn on public sharing. Its profile details, collected parks and match history then become public. Currently, shared match history includes any opponent and partner names you entered; private match notes are excluded. A post is public only when you publish it and your profile is public. You can turn public sharing off. Copies already saved or cached by others may remain.
Your email and chosen phone details are shared with another player only after a hit request is accepted. They do not appear in public profiles, posts or link previews.
Service providers and agents
Railway hosts the service and database. Amazon SES sends email. Amazon S3 stores photos and encrypted database backups. Geoapify receives typed addresses and chosen GPS coordinates for address lookup; map tiles load from maps.geoapify.com in your browser, so Geoapify sees your IP address and map requests. Railway manages the domain and support-mail forwarding to Gmail.
If you connect your own AI agent with an API key, that agent and its provider can receive the information allowed by the key and take actions for you. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies.
Technical records and retention
CourtTide doesn’t use third-party analytics or error-tracking tools. Our logs hold technical codes, IDs, times and durations, not your contact details or messages. To limit repeated requests, we keep scrambled versions of IP and email addresses that expire. First-party product events record the account, event kind and time, plus limited event details, for 56 days.
Removing a match, played-park mark or photo hides it from the site while we keep the record or image in storage. Closed posts, requests, notes and reports are also retained. Account deletion is handled manually: we disable access and hide the profile and activity while retaining their records. Database backups expire after 30 days. To request account deletion or ask about erasure, email us; we may need to verify that you control the account.
Adults only and contact
CourtTide is for people aged 18 or older. If you believe a child has provided personal information, or you have a privacy question or correction, contact support@courttide.com.
